Sicilian Granita dessert
Granita is a semi-frozen dessert originally coming from Sicily. It is not a sorbet, that is very compact; it is not an ice cream that is creamier. It is just a granita!
It is often served with a yeast pastry called brioche and white cream. It is part of our summer breakfast.
It is made from water, sugar, and other flavourings such as lemon, almonds, pistachio, strawberries, coffee.
In Palermo the granita I like and I often eat, in summer, is the lemon one. And you, have you ever heard about Sicilian Granita?
